Connected Caring
Connected Caring South Tyneside is a service which connects unpaid adult carers in the borough to the services, information and communities they need.
Connected Caring South Tyneside joins the dots to support unpaid adult carers in our community.
This new service is run as a partnership between our team at Sense Ability Matters, Age Concern South Tyneside (ACTS), and Your Voice Counts, with funding from South Tyneside Council.
We tailor our solutions to you, giving you choice, control, and independence. We offer a wide range of local support services, including:
- Information and Advice: We provide guidance on all issues affecting carers, including benefits, respite, support services, assessments, and more.
- Caring Communities: We connect you to our community, and help you to create support groups with like-minded people.
- Empowerment and Support: We recognise your individual needs and will help you explore support options, opportunities for personal growth, and avenues for a life outside of caring.
- Connections to Services: We can help you find solutions that best serve your needs, connecting you to relevant services such as health and social care, housing, advocacy, and counselling.
- Awareness and Advocacy: We raise awareness of carers’ issues and rights within the community and work with local organisations and businesses to develop new or improve existing support and employment opportunities for carers.
- Emotional Support: Our team provides support through individual and group sessions with staff, trained volunteers, and other carers.
- Respite: Opportunities for carers to enjoy time out, breaks, and social activities.
- Assessments and Plans: We can support you to access assessments and get the right care plan for you.
- Training and education on caregiving-related topics for carers and professionals.
- Regular Updates: Stay informed with our regular newsletter and updates, featuring information on activities, training, and events tailored to your interests
