We are proud to share the Sense Ability Matters Impact Report for 2024/25.
During 2024/25, we directly supported 5,573 people across our services. This included 2,959 people who received information, advice and guidance, 1,113 people who accessed our low vision service and 224 people who received digital support. Our volunteers also made 1,334 telephone support calls, helping people to feel connected and less isolated.
The outcomes show the difference this support can make. Of the people we worked with:
- 93% reported an improvement in their emotional health and wellbeing
- 92% felt more confident and empowered
- 87% felt able to live more independently
- 84% felt less isolated
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to this work. Behind every statistic is a person, family or community whose life has been supported in some way by our wonderful staff, volunteers, partners and funders.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to listening to people with lived experience, improving access to support and helping more people across South Tyneside and Gateshead live informed and empowered lives.
